3 elegant themes for our Ubuntu

Ubuntu with FlatPersonalization is something important to many, indeed, many users prefer to be able to customize their distribution or Ubuntu a lot and use basic functions such as watching YouTube, writing in LibreOffice or listening to music rather than programming or having the best kernel in the world. For these I have selected three elegant themes that we can install at the touch of the terminal and apply them to our usual settings.

These three elegant themes are I have chosen for my tastes and popularity, although of course it does not mean that my criteria have to be yours, on the contrary, the more diversity of opinion the better. So do not hesitate to comment what you think. In addition, in this case I have selected the external repository route for the installations, a more practical way since it will allow us to update the theme when the creator updates it and otherwise we would have to do it by hand. So we will have to open the terminal to use it.

Numix Theme

We have already talked about this topic many times, but with a different installation. In this case the repository is compatible with Gnome, Unity, Openbox, Phanteom and Xfce or what is the same, Numix Theme we can use it with almost all the flavors of Ubuntu. It uses the GTK libraries so we will not be able to install it in Kubuntu. To install it, in the terminal we write the following:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:numix/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install numix-gtk-theme

Paper Material Design

Paper Material Design

As its name suggests, Paper Material Design is inspired by the Material Design of Google and Android, a topic that is very popular and whose adaptation for Ubuntu is interesting. Furthermore this elegant theme is compatible with almost all Ubuntu flavors as well as with Cinnamon and Linux Mint. If you like the installation it is:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:snwh/pulp

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install paper-gtk-theme

sudo apt-get install paper-icon-theme

Arc Theme

Arc Theme

This elegant theme reminds me a lot of Windows 10, although with its differences and without viruses. It is interesting and beautiful, hence my inclusion to this list. Also, its icons are not very simple or very colorful as in other themes. Unlike the previous ones, Arc Theme is compatible with MATE and the rest of flavors and desktops that are in Ubuntu. In this case no repository needed but you have to go to this website and download the deb package that will install everything you need.

Conclusion on elegant themes

The customization in Ubuntu is very high, a customization that we can choose as I have done in this article. As you have seen, these three elegant themes are beautiful but they may not be to your taste, I leave that to your choice, but if you want elegant themes that update themselves thanks to the repositories, these themes are a good option, don't you think ?

    Hello
I am a lover of gastronomy and technology. I am 66 years old and I have time to clutch pc, tablets, phones. I use my PC to download recipes, watch videos, and study.
Fed up with Windows and its viruses, I decided to try LINUX. I confess that it has not been easy at all, I have had to study and study. And after so much success and error, I begin to love him.
I have a long way to go, I am not a programmer or systems engineer but I love challenges. I have not given up on Linux and I am accommodating it to my needs and tastes, thanks to people like you, who help us navigate this cybernetic route.
