Currently many applications are developed in the cloud. the same Ubuntu offers a space in the Cloud as well as a music application in Cloud, Ubuntu OneMusic. However, there are still traditional applications that work without having to go through Cloud. A good example of this is Evolution an information management application even though it is traditionally used as email manager.
Evolution history
Evolution first belonged to Novell and was developed for Gnome, later passed into the hands of the Gnome Project and changed his name from Novell Evolution a Evolution. Evolution was developed as the free option to Microsoft Outlook, thus the appearance of Evolution reminds us of Microsoft Outlook.
Among the virtues or functionalities of Evolution you will find the mail manager, contact list, calendar and note list. Evolution installation
Currently Evolution is not installed by default as it used to be in the first versions of Ubuntu, however it is fully available in the official Ubuntu repositories, so we can install it well using the Ubuntu Software Center
or through the terminal by typing this
sudo apt-get install evolution
Once we have installed it, when we open the program, a tutorial will start that will automatically configure the email account that we enter. Personally I have used a Gmail account and it has worked the first time without any complications.
In addition, Evolution allows the option to add plugins that increases the productivity and usability of Evolution.
