Linuxeros Desktops # 26

We close the last edition of the year of Linux Desktops with a great participation of you dear reader friends, how I always say thank you, the section has already become a classic on the blog.

In this edition, the large number of users of Arch Linux, I have not counted them but there are several I think that after Ubuntu It is the distribution with the most participants in this edition, which makes me happy, because although this blog is an Ubuntu blog, this section is for all GNU / Linux users, so friends who are users of other distributions are welcome. 🙂

It only remains to thank them for the incredible participation that month after month they have in this section of the blog.

I use Ubuntu Maverick x64 with a modified kernel with OSS support (which I use because I use Tvtime among other things, and otherwise I cannot control the volume from the application).

I give you the links of the things I use:

Kernel: Kernel with active OSS support for Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat x64

Patch: Famous 200+ line patch in user mode for Ubuntu. Easy.

Skin Covergloobus: CoverGloobus skin edited by me.

Wallpaper (background): I do not have it uploaded to the blog, but I send it to you as an attachment.

Wallpaper (animated): Animated wallpaper (using screensaver)

Theme: GTK theme: Mac4LinCombo

Icons for Cairo Dock: Token Icon Set
The missing icon (Grooveshark) for the dock I give it to you via attachment. This one I did and it follows the lines of Token.

    Someone knows how to place the transparent top panel, since I have not been able to with mine no matter how much I have tried. Greetings.

      You can do the following:

      from console:

      wget http://webupd8.googlecode.com/files/theme_bg_patcher2.py && chmod + x theme_bg_patcher2.py

      After the download, you run:

      sudo python -u theme_bg_patcher2.py

      Then you can put the transparency in the panels as usual (right click, properties, background tab and solid color) ...
      regards
