The first Daily Build of Ubuntu 24.10 Oracular Oriole is now available, but you may not be interested in downloading it

Ubuntu 24.10 Daily Build

As already we warned last Monday, you can now download the first Daily Build Ubuntu 24.10, the next installment of Canonical's operating system that will be codenamed Oracular Oriole. They have not officially announced it, and they are not available in all cases, but some of them can now be downloaded. At the time of starting to write this article, at least those of Ubuntu and Kubuntu.

For many reasons, you probably don't want to download it. The first, for what it offers: until after a few weeks, little more than Noble Numbat with developer repositories on which to start adding changes. Another reason is that, although it is already a possibility, another is that what we find if we do not read this past article for some time is the oversized image of what is now "pending", nothing more with the automatic checks made or with the desired size.

Ubuntu 24.10 already offers Daily Build, to be checked and oversized

Hen/Stag OVERSIZED images They are usually similar to the final Daily Build, but contain debug files and other packages that increase their size. The best thing to do is wait for the image to be moved to the "Current" section, at which point the automatic checks will have already been done and its weight will be the corresponding one.

Always taking as a basis the moment when I started writing this article, and looking out of the corner of my eye to see if anything has changed in, what can be downloaded at this moment are the Kubuntu images, already in their "Current" state. , and that of Ubuntu, but in its "Pending" state. The links are this that of Kubuntu and this that of Ubuntu. The rest of the flavors will probably upload the images throughout the day today, and it is possible that they will announce the first Daily Build officially in the next few hours.
