Pop! _OS is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu, this is developed by System76 which is a famous manufacturer of computers with pre-installed Linux. It has the GNOME desktop environment which has its own GTK theme and icons.
System76 has created this distribution taking the best of Ubuntu and also of Elementary OS, in order to offer a system that is designed according to its products, since it is specially focused for the creation of 3D models, artificial intelligence, design and other things.
In order to offer Pop! _OS is that their clients not only have good computer equipment, but also be accompanied by an system that takes advantage and squeezes the most out of the components of this.

A new trial version has been released
Day Today the developers are pleased to announce a trial version in an official statement of what would be the next release of its operating system Pop! _OS 18.04, as its nomenclature could deduce, this new version will be based on Ubuntu 18.04.
In this trial version a new installer has been added which offers full disk encryption.
With that argue the following:
Our first iteration of ISO 18.04 is ready for testing. In this release, you will notice new features including:
- A new installer experience
- Full disk encryption by default
- USB flash utility
One of the drawbacks you can find if you decide to take a look at Pop! _OS 18.04 Testing it is that you will not be able to perform a custom installation so you don't have the option to install it on a custom partition, there is only the option of having it installed to disk completely.
In a personal way I can say what the heck is wrong with you guys from System76? How can they forget something so essential in the installer?
Testing the new installer is our priority for this test release. Dual boot configurations are not currently supported, but will be done based on the final version of the installer.
Though it is only a trial version, to aid in bug detection and thus be able to gather the most information to have a more polished stable version, it is still a small bad thorn to think that it can be a double-edged sword.
