Ubuntu 19.10 no longer accept more news. That is what it means to have reached the feature freeze or Feature Freeze: yes changes will be accepted, but these changes will not be new features, rather everything should be focused on improving the software that Eoan Ermine already includes. The best example we have in the famous Yaru theme: the freezing of functions it's official since last August 22 (it caught us off guard, it is what summer has), but the team that develops it launched an update last Monday, August 26 with the changes that were promised days before.
Feature freeze is when development comes into play. The first Daily Builds of an Ubuntu version are practically the same as the previous version on which they are introducing the changes. With about two months to go until the official release, they stop accepting new features and the teams of developers of the different flavors of the Canonical system focus on fixing all the possible bugs. The first beta is released four weeks before the final version, which this year coincides with the September 26 (always on Thursday).
Ubuntu 19.10 Eoan Ermine will be released on October 17
The official launch of Eoan Ermine will occur on October 17. Until then, we may find ourselves with a lot of news, but none of it will have to do with new functions. Those of us who are testing a Daily Build can also expect updates to arrive more frequently, but with small changes that, as we have already mentioned, will focus on correcting bugs.
Ubuntu 19.10 will be a "normal" release, which means that will be supported until July 2020. Among the most outstanding novelties, the Linux kernel 5.2, GNOME 3.34 and updated versions of all the graphical environments in which it is available, as well as the applications, are expected to arrive.
