Adapta, a Material Design type theme for your PC with Ubuntu

Theme Adapta

Just over two years ago, Google unveiled something to the world that would allow us to control a layered user interface. What at first made us doubt (and I remember thinking that they were talking about a new type of screen) was a more minimalist interface that at the same time offered more options. If you know the Material Design from Google and you would like to use something similar on your Ubuntu PC, Adapts It is a GTK topic that will interest you.

In less than a month Ubuntu 16.10 will be officially released, a new version that will arrive with Unity 8, although we will have to select the new environment from the login screen. Unity 8 It is a version with a much less striking image than Unity 7. But if you do not want to wait to use the new graphical environment, you can always install a theme like the protagonist of this post with some Moka icons that are one of the most attractive that there is right now for Linux.

How to install Adapta on Ubuntu

To install this great GTK theme in Ubuntu, just open a terminal and type the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:tista/adapta -y
sudo apt update
sudo apt install adapta-gtk-theme

Keep in mind that in order to select the new theme that we will have installed with the previous commands we will need a tool, as is the case of Unity Tweak Tool in the standard version of Ubuntu.

This GTK theme is available in Adapta, Adapta-Eta, Adapta-Nokto and Adapta-Nokto-Eta versions. Is compatible with most popular graphics environments, including Unity 7, MATE 1.14, Xfce 4.12, Cinnamon 3.0, GNOME 3.22.0, and Budgie 10.2.x.

I have to admit that when I see topics like these I get curious, I remember how eager I was to try Ubuntu 16.10 and I was tempted to use even the Beta 2 that came out recently. What do you think? Do you like the GTK Adapta theme?
