The Arc GTK theme will also be available in Ubuntu 16.10

Arc GTK theme

With the number of interesting distributions out there, if there is something I don't like about the standard version of Ubuntu, besides that it is not as fast as other distros, it is its image. I have never finished liking Unity, although I have to admit that I have done it thanks to the fact that the launcher can be moved to the bottom and it is the version I use now. In any case, while I look forward to the arrival of Unity 8, I look favorably on distributions such as Budgie Remix or the Arc GTK theme.

Arc GTK is a theme that we could say that provides a finer and more contemporary image to the windows of our PC with Ubuntu. Until now, to use Arc in Ubuntu 16.10 you had to do several steps, something that was not too complicated but you had to take the trouble. From now on, this popular theme will be available in Ubuntu 16.10 default repositories, the next operating system developed by Canonical that will be called Yakkety Yak.

Rest assured, Arc GTK is also coming to Yakkety Yak

As with Ubuntu 16.04 and earlier, now installing Arc on Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak is just a few clicks or a command away. If we want, we can install it from Ubuntu Software (or another package manager like Synaptic) or by typing the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt install arc-theme

Of course, we must remember that in order to choose this theme in Ubuntu we will have to do it via Unity Tweak Tool, so we will have to install it, if we don't already have it, with the following command:

sudo apt install arc-theme

Once Unity Tweak Tool is installed, we open it, we will Appearance / Theme, we select Arc, Arc-Dark or Arc-Darker and that's it. The change will be made instantly. And if you have never tried Unity Tweak Tool, you can take advantage of and change other aspects of the interface of your Ubuntu. If you have already tried it, what do you think of Arc GTK?
