If there is one type of program for which there are lots of options, that type of program is the text editors. In fact, practically each version of Linux has a different one installed by default, but if there are so many options it is perhaps because these editors do not offer us everything we need. One of the most famous publishers has released an update today; we are talking about Atom 1.13.

One of the reasons why Atom is so popular is that it is not available only for one platform but, in addition to Linux, we can also install it on macOS and Windows. The new version, Atom 1.13 comes with a small number of key enhancements and new features, as a new tool for benchmarking, the ability to quickly reopen projects, and a keystroke resolution API.

Among the latests Moravia's compositions visual enhancements we have a new set of improved "Octicons". Octicons are custom icons used throughout the application and a total of 20 new Octicons have been included in this update, including glyphs for Gists and symbols such as Verified or Reply. Improvements have also been made to "line weight and size standardization". The new Reopen Project menu, the palettes command, and the API allows developers to get back where they left off.

In addition to all this, and as usual, Atom 1.13 arrives with general improvements, bug fixes and code debugging.

How to install Atom 1.13

Atom is an open source text editor u open source, But not available in default repositories from Ubuntu. To install it, we will have to go to its website (by clicking here), download the .deb package and install it with our software installer, which is usually done by simply double-clicking on the downloaded file and then clicking "Install".
