Audacity

Audacity is a free and open source application with which we can record and edit audio digitally from our computer. This application it is multiplatform so it can be used on Windows, MacOS, Linux, and more.

This app was created in 1999 at Carnegie University and released to the public in May 2000. Audacity won the SourceForge Community Choice Award in 2007 and was recognized as the best multimedia project in 2009.

In addition to allowing us to record multiple audio sources, Audacity can also allow us to post-process all types of audio, including podcasts, by adding effects such as input and output normalization, clipping, and fading.
