The Blueborne vulnerability was patched in all Ubuntu versions

Canonical has recently released new kernel updates for all supported Ubuntu versions, in order to patch several recently discovered security vulnerabilities, including the famous BlueBorne affecting millions of devices Bluetooth.

The BlueBorne vulnerability (CVE-2017-1000251) apparently affects all versions of Ubuntu, including Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus), Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin), as well as their respective maintenance versions.

The update is available for 32-bit and 64-bit PCs, as well as for Raspberry Pi 2 computers, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Container Engine (GKE) systems, Snapdragon processors, and cloud-based environments. Apparently, this problem could allow a remote attacker to affect the vulnerable system by using malicious traffic via Bluetooth.

Users should update their computers as soon as possible

The new kernel updates also fix a buffer overflow issue in the Broadcom FullMAC WLAN driver for Ubuntu 17.04, as well as a F2FS file system issue, and another buffer overflow issue in the ISDN subsystem ioctl codes. of the Linux Kernel for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

In total, they were patched 15 other security flaws for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and Canonical recommends that all users of these Ubuntu versions update their installations immediately to the latest Kernel versions that are in the stable repositories for their corresponding architectures.

To update your system, you can follow the instructions provided by Canonical at the address https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Security/Upgrades. Don't forget to restart your computer after installing the new kernel version.
