Canonical uploads the first ISO images of Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri

Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri

April 28 we publish a short article in which we talked about the beginning of the development of Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri. From that moment, it was a matter of hours before Canonical uploaded the first Daily Build of the version of the system that will be released in October, and that moment has already come. Unlike the images of the stable versions, with these ISOs there is a bit more headroom and not all of them are uploaded at the same time. Thus, the first to be downloaded was Ubuntu Budgie, not to change.

Ubuntu Budgie He uploaded his first Impish Indri Daily Build yesterday Friday, April 30, and a little later other flavors such as Kubuntu and Lubuntu did. The rest of the siblings in the family took a little longer, not counting Kylin, who also uploaded his image the same day, but, as it is an option aimed at the Chinese public, I always have the doubt of whether it will interest our readers or not. (and I think not).

Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri will arrive on October 14

Right now all the images are available (here, entering the section of each system and then "daily-live"), but if you are thinking of installing one of them thinking that it will be full of news, you have to put the brakes on. Early in development, that is available is little more than the previous version of Ubuntu on which they will add the changes, and taking into account that Hirsute Hippo gave us less than ten days ago, the current Daily Build of Ubuntu 21.10 is only worth it for developers or for those who want to install it in a virtual machine to see almost in real time all the updates that are being added.

Ubuntu 21.10 will be released on October 14, and among the novelties that the main version will include we will have GNOME 41, according to rumors, Linux 5.14 approximately and more work to make Wayland work better, since it is one of the novelties that they want to have prepared for the next LTS version that will be released in April 2022 and right now it is not working well in all areas.
