Editing the GNOME menu with Meow

Enthusiasts of the GNOME shell have one more reason to be happy thanks to the editor Meow, which allows managing this type of desktops within Linux operating systems. With Meow you can easily create folders within the GNOME menu, reorder all those components existing or create new entries on the desktop by simply dragging and dropping an application (or URL) on the main window.

Meow is another GNOME desktop menu editor that covers one of the basic adaptation needs of this environment, such as being able to create program folders tailored to the user. With a very simple installation through your own websites On GitHub, you can compile your own sources through the following steps.

In order to compile the sources of this program, OpenJDK8, git and sbt are required to be installed on the computer. To do this and from the system console itself, type the following instructions:

echo "deb https://dl.bintray.com/sbt/debian /"

sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sbt.list

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv 642AC823

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk git sbt

You can then download the source code and compile it:

git clone https://github.com/pnmougel/meow.git

cd meow

sbt run

Try create your own menus with Steam Games, Android Development or link to Ubunlog. From its website you can download the installers for Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora, as well as the source code in .ZIP and .TAR.GZ files.
