It is also understandable, since edubuntu.org belonged to another project and there was no website where to report anything.
What can be said about an old acquaintance like this that is not already known? Well, he is Ubuntu, but focused on education. Behind him is the leader of the Ubuntu Studio project, with whom he bears some similarities. Both flavors are like other official ones with metapackages added, and if Ubuntu Studio is Kubuntu with software for content creators, Edubuntu is Ubuntu with software for students and teachers.
Other things to know is that the project leader is his wife, who is dedicated to teaching, and that she is built on top of Ubuntu (GNOME), with whom he even shares a logo with a slight difference: there is one of the circle of friends who is raising his hand, but because this circle is actually a circle of students. What's new in Edubuntu 23.04
Taking into account that he has come back to life, after six years missing, comparing would be a bit difficult. But Edubuntu 23.04 includes things like:
- Supported for 9 months, until January 2023.

- GNOME 44.
- Red is the default accent color, displacing the orange of the main Ubuntu release.
- Wallpapers with educational motives.
