Emoji come to Ubuntu thanks to Firefox 50

Mozilla Firefox

A new version of Firefox 50 has been released. A version that despite its number does not present anything spectacular, except the introduction of emojis in web browsing with the Mozilla browser.

Emojis are not usually something that interests many but it is true that the youngest, especially WhatsApp lovers, use and need these types of icons. This will be possible thanks to the new font that Firefox 50 introduces although we will not find some popular emojis.

Mozilla Firefox 50 uses Unicode 9 accompanied by a font called Emoji. This font is the one that incorporates the emojis as standard. But it is not the only new thing that we will have in Firefox 50. In the navigation bar it will be better specified if the web we are accessing is secure or not. In addition, the reading mode as well as other functions can be controlled with new keyboard shortcuts. Something that will come standard in the browser. For example, the reading mode will be activated Ctrl+Alt+R, one of the few new features of the browser.

Emojis will appear natively in Firefox 50 in addition to the new keyboard shortcuts

Mozilla Firefox is going to be completely renewed next year, changing not only the interface but also the search engine and totally rewritten. Something that will allow users of the famous web browser to enjoy a fast and complete navigation, as good as the one that exists in other web browsers.

Mozilla Firefox 50 is now available to everyone, both for all platforms and free download through its website. Through the repositories, the user has to wait a little longer to have Mozilla Firefox 50 although they exist alternatives just as fast. In any case, it seems that the new version of Mozilla Firefox announces that there will be major changes in the browser Do not you think?

Good morning Joaquín. Your blog to which I am subscribed is very useful. In one of the laptops I have a problem with Wi-Fi. I don't know if this is the place but I'll explain it to you. Sporadic microcuts occur. It disconnects, tells you an error and you have to click on the network again to reconnect. The scan does detect networks. I have updated and it keeps happening. I have 16.04.1LTS on both laptops. In the other it works and both with clean installation. Thanks for your help

Regarding Firefox 50, the wisest thing to do is wait for the final launch. You think so? Greetings
