Enlightenment, a spectacular desktop for our Linux

Enlightenment for Linux

Enlightenment is a very light and super functional desk available for our favorite Linux distribution, to install it correctly on our distro based on Debian, we will follow some simple instructions.

We are going to do the whole process with the terminal of our operating system, remember that if you are a novice or inexperienced user you can copy the commands shown here directly to your terminal, this will help you in the installation process at the same time that it will facilitate the task and will avoid you making mistakes, since the simple change of a script will make the installation process unsuccessful.

To begin, the first thing we will do is add repository own of the application and update packages:

Adding the new repository

We will open a new terminal and type the following command line to add the new repository:

  • sudo apt-add-repository ppa: hannes-janetzek / enlightenment-svn
Enlightenment for Linux

Now with the following command we will update the repositories, including the one just added:
  • sudo apt-get update
Enlightenment for Linux

Once this is done, we will only have to install the new desktop Enlightenment.

Installing Enlightenment

Now we only have to enter the following command line to install the spectacular desktop on our Debian-based operating system lighting:

  • sudo apt-get install e17
Enlightenment for Linux

With these simple steps we will have added the new repository, updated the list of packages and installed the new DesktopTo open it, we will only have to restart the session and select it from the login screen itself.

When we start our new desktop for the first time, we will get a Setup Wizard what will our questions ask us personal preferences.
