Firefox 65.0.2 now available without major changes in Linux

Firefox 65.0.2

Firefox 65.0.2

Mozilla has released Firefox 65.0.2 for everyone users regardless of their operating system. This is a minor release, especially for users of Unix-based operating systems, i.e. Linux and macOS. Those who will get the improvements will be Windows users, but those who are using Microsoft's operating system will not notice any truly visible news either. We could say that this v65.0.2 comes to correct errors.

To be fair and if we take into account the list of news that we have proportioned Mozilla, we should say "bug" and "Windows only". It is strange to see a new release for all available platforms when all that appears in the release information note is “corrected a bug with geolocation services affecting Windows users«. We have the feeling that Linux and macOS users will have the same version as the previous one but with a change: the version number. If no new bugs are discovered, the next version is expected to be Firefox 66 coming on Father's Day, March 19th.

Firefox 65.0.2 fixes a problem in Windows

Firefox 65.0.2 is now available for download from its website. Ubuntu users and all its flavors will still have to wait some time until the new version is available via Software Update, which is a perfect example of how important the Snap packages that arrived in April 2016 are: the screenshot you have on the screen is from Firefox 65.0.2, but the version that exists available as snap package. Canonical currently includes Firefox by default on their operating systems, but as an APT package. If we want to enjoy the latest version when it is released, it would be best to uninstall the default version and install the Snap package.

Have you already updated Firefox to its latest version?
