Firefox 69.0.2 arrives to fix a total of three minor bugs

Firefox 69.0.2

Mozilla advanced us a couple of weeks ago they would release new versions of their web browser every less time. Starting in 2020 there will be a major release every month, but minor updates will roll out when they have something to fix. Today they released one of those maintenance releases, a Firefox 69.0.2 with so little news that the Windows patch weighs just over 5mb. This time, none of the new features are related to security.

In total, Firefox 69.0.2 fix three bugs, one of them general, another for the Windows version and a third for the one that interests us the most, for the Linux version. Specifically, it is a patch that prevents the browser from closing when changing the playback speed when watching YouTube videos, something that personally seems so unimportant that, honestly, I had to look at the YouTube options to verify that there is such a option.

What's New in Firefox 69.0.2

  • Fixed a crash in Linux that occurred when changing the playback speed while watching YouTube videos.
  • Fixed detection in Windows 10 parental controls function when activated.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when editing files on Office 365 websites.

If you want to try the closure that they tell us about in the News list from Firefox 69.0.2, you can still do it. The update It is now available in the official website in the form of a new version and from the same browser for existing Windows, macOS and Linux users, in the case of the latter if we are using the binary version. The rest of us mortals, those of us who use the usual repositories, will still have to wait a few hours or a few days. In any case, looking at the list of news, I almost find it more interesting to try to reproduce the YouTube bug (I have not been able to) than the update itself.
