Now YES it is official. As scheduled, Mozilla has released today Firefox 70. This is the last major update of your browser and it comes with some visual novelties such as the new icon that you can see at the top of this article. On the other hand, it also includes improved support for dark mode that we will notice instantly because it is activated by default and because it is darker than what was available in Firefox 69.
Regarding functions, this is not a very important release. This is something to which we are already accustomed and a trend that will continue due to a change in the philosophy of updates that will make them launch a larger version per month.
Firefox 70 launches new icon
In June, Mozilla announced that Firefox was becoming a brand and that same day unveiled the future icon Firefox (Browser). The icon appeared in the Nightly version of Firefox 70, was confirmed in the beta, and is now available in the stable version. On the other hand, the new version also includes these new features (we will update the list if they add something worth mentioning):

- All Firefox pages are dark if we use a dark theme, among which are the preferences. Menus are also blacker than in previous versions.
- The Firefox account bar has been updated to make it easier for us to access certain Firefox services.
- Ability to go directly to a button on the toolbar by typing the first or first letters of another button when we are focused on a button on the toolbar.
- Enabled baseline interpreter for JavaScript bytecode execution to improve overall browser performance.
- Improved energy consumption in macOS.
- WebRender enabled by default in Windows for low resolution devices with Intel cards.
