Firefox 73 arrives improving the sound, with a general zoom and these other news

Firefox 73

As scheduled, Mozilla launched today February 11 Firefox 73, the latest major version of your web browser. Available since yesterday on the company's FTP server, the launch was made official a few moments ago and is now available for all supported systems. As a version that changes in number, it introduces new functions, but we cannot say that it is a very exciting launch; is what has to launch a new version every month.

Among the novelties included in this version we have some that will improve the consumption of certain content, such as a audio quality improvement when playing sound faster or slower than the original. On the other hand, a function has been included that will allow you to configure a general zoom from the settings, so we will not have to manually configure the zoom every time we open a new window. You have the full list of news below.

What's New in Firefox 73

  • Added support for setting a general zoom level for all web content, regardless of the page. The option is available in "about: preferences", in Language and Appearance. It can be modified above and below 100%.
  • The high contrast mode has been updated to allow background images. To maintain legibility and ensure sufficient contrast, text visible in high contrast mode will use the background theme color.
  • Improved audio quality when playing content at a higher or lower speed (of the original).
  • Firefox will now only ask us to save logins if a field was modified on a login form.
  • WebRender comes to laptops with Nvidia graphics cards with drivers newer than 432.00 and screen sizes smaller than 1920x1200.

Firefox 73 It is now available for download from its official website, which you can access from this link. As always, explain that Linux users will download the binaries, which has the positive that we will use a version that is updated from the same browser. The new version will reach the official repositories of the different Linux distributions in the next few hours.
