Firefox 74 will include the Multi-Account Containers extension installed by default

Firefox 74 will allow to put the tabs in containers

The latest versions of Mozilla's browser are coming with a lot of cool features. Many of them were available in the form of extensions, but Mozilla is gradually adding them to its web browser. One of the extensions that will no longer be needed in Firefox 74 is one that prevents lashes from peeling, but the same version of the browser will arrive with something similar to Multi Account Containers.

What is Multi Account Containers? Currently, it is an extension that allows us to open different instances of the same web page isolated from each other. This means that, for example, we can have two Facebook accounts open, one for work and one for personal, without having to leave one account to enter another and without any browsing data being shared. Checking how the function that prevents the tabs from peeling will work, we have seen that there is an option to separate the tabs into containers.

Before continuing, I would like to remind you that we are talking about the Nightly version of Firefox. This means that they are already testing the feature, but also that they could backtrack and not launch it when scheduled, which is about two months from now. Having explained this, we will also explain how this function works.

If we are in a version that includes it, currently only Firefox 74 (Nightly) does it, we only have to:

Option A

We simply right click on it add tab button and open an empty container. From there, everything we do in that tab will be done in the chosen container.

Option B

  1. We right click on a tab.
  2. We choose the option «Reopen in container».
  3. We indicate in which group we want to open it. By default, the available groups are Personal, Work, Banking, and Purchasing.
  4. We go to the tab that we just opened and enter with another user, such as our work user.

If we want to edit or add containers, we have to go to Preferences, go to the "Tabs" section and, on the right, enter "Settings". From here we can edit / delete existing containers or create new ones. If we want to deactivate the function, we only have to deactivate the box.

Are you a Multi-Account Containers user and are you glad that Firefox 74 is going to include this feature?
