Firefox Sync or how to have our browsers synchronized

Firefox add-ons: its fine-tuning (II)

A few years ago, the Internet user used to have a single browser, the one at home almost always, in which he deposited the information he needed in his navigation, accessories, bookmarks, history, etc ... With the passage of time, every day we handle more gadgets that use the Internet, that is why the Cloud and those programs that use this concept have become fashionable. A few months ago, Google Chrome offered the possibility of having all our data synchronized in all the browsers we use, in such a way that it was associated with a user and by marking that user in any Chrome browser we use, we will have all the information we have. Perhaps this feature enhanced the use of Chrome but he is no longer the only one. The Mozilla team launched a few months ago in an experimental way and some accounts ago versions definitively to «Firefox Sync«, A browser utility that not only allows us to synchronize the information we want, but also allows us to link and unlink the devices we want with the Firefox browser of our choice. In addition, it allows us to associate the mobile versions of Firefox and the information on our mobile Firefox OS.

How to use Firefox Sync

Surely many of you have seen something in your Mozilla Firefox which resembles Sync or Firefox Sync or even "sync computers«. Well, now we are going to see how to use those options. The first thing we have to do is go to Edit -> Preferences and a window like this appears, we go to the tab that is active, «Sync»Which is none other than the link or direct menu of Firefox Sync. The image you see is the one that results when you have it configured, but if not, a gray screen will appear with two options: link or create a new account. Being the first time we choose to create an account and the following will appear

Now we only need to link devices, which is nothing more than another thing to tell Firefox to synchronize the information on that computer with another computer or device such as tablet or mobile. We return to the screen that appears after going to Edit–> Preferences–> Sync and we will see how the previous screen appears. Well, now we are going to "pair device" and this screen appears.

Well in the three central boxes you have to insert a code, which is given to us by the device we want to link, for example our mobile. We open the Firefox from our mobile, we go to the options and we look for «link device» a code will appear and we will insert it on the other screen. Now the previous screen will reappear informing us that the device is being synchronized. This operation must be carried out with any device that we want to link, it is repetitive but very safe. Once we have linked all our devices, we go back to the screen where the option «Pairing device»And we will have the Firefox Sync configuration screen. There is a central menu where we choose the type of data that we want to synchronize or do not want, such as add-ons or cookies, for example, you decide. In the box below the menu we have the option to put a name or nickname to the device, in my case I have put Desktop because it is the desktop, but I have another with «netbook»And another with«Cell«. And with all this you will already have configured Firefox Sync and you can synchronize your data in Mozilla Firefox. What did you think of the tutorial? Do you find it useful? Have you had any problems? Do not cut yourself, give your opinion and so you can help another person, even if you don't believe it.
