Highlights of Frameworks 5.62

The full list of what's new in Frameworks 5.62 is available at this link, but some of them were better explained in posts from the KDE Usability & Productivity initiative like these:

  • Undo when we have trashed something from the desktop works again.
  • Dolphin no longer closes when copying a large number of files to a location that already has a sub-package of those files and we choose to skip the existing file.
  • Large versions of the trash can now look like a trash can.
  • Small monochrome versions of the Trash now appear full instead of red.
  • Selecting the trash now displays the correct text and icon in the Dolphin info panel.
  • The notifications icon now uses the outline style like the rest of the systray icons.
  • The icons in the special permission editor are now the same as the icons in the active theme, so they look better in DPI mode and in all color schemes.
  • No longer hangs when trying to overwrite an existing file on an FTP server.
  • It is no longer possible to drag a combobox QML menu out of its frame.
  • In open / save dialog boxes, as well as other online file views, it is no longer possible to uselessly try to create a new file or folder on top of an existing file (Frameworks 5.62)
  • Some buttons on certain Plasma widgets (like the Weather widget's Configure button) are no longer comically large.
  • Fictionbook files now have their own icons.
  • Long tags in Dolphin and file dialogs are now elided in the middle instead of at the end so their filename extensions are always visible.
