The Plasma launches. It is in the graphical environment where KDE introduces many of its most interesting new features, but others that are worth adding to its applications (KDE Applications). The package of improvements is completed with their libraries and yesterday they launched Framework 5.68.0, a new version that has come with many tweaks that will improve the user experience in all KDE Community related software.

In terms of number of changes, Frameworks 5.68.0 has introduced a total of 187 improvements distributed in software such as Baloo, the Breeze, KConfig, KIO or Kirigami icons.   • In all KDE applications, text in the user interface that is assumed to be bold now displays as bold as expected.
  • The "Run in terminal" option now works when using Wayland and Konsole is the default terminal emulator.
  • Various icons in Plasma now better respect and reflect your color scheme.
  • The Baloo file indexer now notes and re-indexes files that have been changed during the initial indexing process.
  • The new thumbnail view of the "Get New [Thing]" window now works.
  • For the Telegram app, a monochrome icon has been added to the system tray and the icon has been refined to look more like the original.

KDE Frameworks is now available in code form, but at the time of this writing it has not yet made it to Discover. This usually takes longer to do than newer versions of Plasma, but it should be available later this week.
