A few days ago we explained how to create web-apps, something that is possible with Chrome and also with firefox. Personally, I want to have several web services in the same application and I know three options: Rambox that weighs a lot, Wavebox that goes by subscription and French That doesn't allow me to create what I need, does it? Well, yes, it can, and it is something that its own creator suggests, although it is true that the way to do it can throw back more than one.
Actually the method is very simple, or at least the one that I have used. The secret is to edit a file in the folder that is created when adding a service. The truth is that there are several lines of code, but it is only necessary to modify the line that contains the URL so that the service is displayed without problems. Later we will make other changes so that everything is to our liking. We show you how to do it step by step after cutting.
Franz is once again my favorite app for web-apps
We will do the following:
- We add a service. In the example that I propose I have added LinkedIn.
- Let's go to the folder Personal Folder / .config / Franz / recipes
- We access the service folder that we added in step 1, where we are going to edit a file to add whatever we want.
- We open the file "package.json" with a text editor.
- We edit the "serviceURL" line and add the URL of the service we prefer.
- We save the file.
- We restart Franz.
- Finally, if we want, we can change the icon: right click on the icon on the left, click on "edit" and drag an icon at will. We can also put the name we prefer, in this case Inoreader.
NOTE: : I had been surprised that it did not come out, but in the capture the URL is wrong, as you can see (a com is left over). It would look like this:
What I have created so far have been two Twitter Lite accounts and that of Inoreader. The official instructions They are much more complex, but personally I do not need everything to be perfect, so I have made this shortcut that I have shared with you. What do you think?
