KDE Neon will allow you to get all the news about KDE software

During the past FOSDEM (Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting), an event for all those developers who defend Free Software, programmer Jonathan Riddell had the pleasure of announcing the launch of KDE Neon.

This project is nothing more than a series of repositories that will provide us with all the new KDE applications and tools from the day they are released, and it also looks like it could become a full-featured distro in the future.

As we are informed in the official release, KDE Neon has arisen from the obvious need of users to have a desktop stable with the latest features. In addition, this project will have long term supportSo we can always count on the latest updates and bug fixes for KDE software. So when KDE Plasma 5 comes out, you will be able to get all its news through the KDE Neon repositories.

In addition, KDE Neon will provide us with the ISOs and the necessary means to be able to install an Ubuntu-based distro on our PCs with all the KDE news, and also fully updated.

This project is still a bit "green" to launch. At the moment this is all we know, so we will have to wait to see how the project progresses and how it ends, although at the moment it already looks very good. Furthermore, it is also known that as long as developers work on a version based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), an initial version will be released with Ubuntu 15.10 Willy Warewolf so that users can test this project, although KDE Neon versions are expected to be based on LTS versions of Ubuntu.

Below you can see a picture of what KDE Neon will look like on a laptop.

As we have said, at the moment we do not know anything more than what the project is based on, so we cannot yet specify much on the matter, even so it is a very promising project and as such, we will follow its growth from Ubunlog. We hope you liked this new project as much as we did.
