GNOME Shell 3.23.2 implements the OSD Configuration Pad, improves full screen transitions under Wayland, always shows the main network icon when connecting, adds a workaround for portal crashes when using URLs without HTTPS redirection, and makes hiding from view of apps work when no usage data is present.
Mutter 3.23.2 adds support for EGLStream and EGLDevice
On the other hand, Mutter 3.23.2 adds support for drawing on tablets under X11 alongside support for EGLStream and EGLDevice objects, improves the toggle between edge swipe or two-finger swipe in Wayland, and fixes an issue that caused several Wine games to start minimized. Also fixes a bug with pop-up selection freezing the screen lock mechanism under Wayland, adds support for managing client resize async implementing a vfunc size_changed and adds support for stacking docks under other windows when running on full-screen monitors.
The new versions also include updated translations including Spanish, Hungarian, Czech, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Finnish, Kazakh and Norwegian.
If you use GNOME Shell or Mutter, it is recommended to install versions 3.23.2 for all the news that we can mention, but even more for all the internal improvements. Although it can also happen that something breaks trying to improve it, the most normal thing is that the updated software includes improvements that make everything work with a higher performance, be safer and present fewer problems.
