For those of you who do not know, Twitch is a video streaming platform video game oriented. In it, the Gamers they can perform gameplays live, so any user can see them in real time and, from this version, talk through a chat while watching the live.

As we told you in the introduction, the feature added in this new update that attracts the most attention is the chat function. From now on, any user can join the streaming chat session in question. Of course, for this it will be necessary that we register or log in to Twitch from the Preferences tab. Still, if we don't let's log in, we will be able to view the chat and all its messages, but we will not be able to participate in it.

The implementation of the chat that has been carried out, allows us teach Twitch emoticons, plus select text and background color we want through Dark or Light themes. You can also change the width and height of the chat, or even hide it in case we are not using it.

According to the developers themselves, there is still a lot of work in progress, plus there are a few important features planned for the new updates; in which we find the possibility of recording and taking screenshots of the live shows, as well as using different backends for the player (such as MPV and VLC).

We remind you that Twtich is Free Software. So we can see or download its source code from your official repository on GitHub. Also, if you want to see what are the changes planned for the next updates, you can see it in this link.

I've installed it, but it can't find the channels that I usually watch. I guess the search option is not very fine tuned. Maybe only live channels work. Regarding that it does not work in higher than 15.10, I have it in 16.04 and it started me without problems.
