Installing Gramps on Ubuntu
To install the genealogy information application through its corresponding package FlatpakIf we use Ubuntu 20.04, it will be essential to enable this technology in our system. If you still do not have it in your system, you can consult The Guide that a colleague wrote on this blog a while ago.
When Flatpak packages can be installed on the system, to install this program We will only need to open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and execute the command in it:
flatpak install --user https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.gramps_project.Gramps.flatpakref
After the installation is complete, you can start the program by typing in the same terminal:
flatpak run org.gramps_project.Gramps
It also can launch the program from the Applications menu or any other available application launcher on your team.
For update the program, when there is a new version available, in a terminal it will only be necessary to write:
flatpak --user update org.gramps_project.Gramps
uninstall
For uninstall the application from our system, we will have to open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and execute the command in it:
flatpak uninstall org.gramps_project.Gramps
