Harmony, listen to your music from anywhere

In the next article we are going to take a look at Harmony Music Player 0.6.0. This version of the program has been released recently. It is a music player based on plugins that offers users an elegant and easy-to-use interface, which also provides us with services to play music from cloud.

Its main characteristic is that it can play music from various sources popular like Google Play Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer, Hype Machine and Last.fm. This is undoubtedly its main feature, but it seems important to remember that this music player is also capable of play the audio files that we have stored on our equipment. This function can be very useful on some occasions, such as in those moments when we do not have an Internet connection.

For older, this show comes with a theme of dark mode which can be activated with the following key combination (Cmd / Ctrl + D). The program will provide us with a keyboard control. We can use different keyboard shortcuts to control the current playback. We can also use the keyboard connect the app with Last.fm and even receive notifications. A couple of useful shortcuts in the program would be: Ctrl / Cmd + k to hide the sidebar, Ctrl / Cmd + A to select everything.

The latest version of this program is presented to us users with a new theme engine. Now show the track title in the tray menu. It also increases the number of songs supported on Google Play Music. In the configuration options, the application will allow us choose Youtube playback quality.

Another highlight of Harmony is that you can disable checking for updates. Offers a better buffering from the slopes. This is something low bandwidth users will appreciate.

Install Harmony Music Player on Ubuntu

You can install this music player downloading your .deb package for both 32 and 64 bits. You can do it from your page or using wget. If you opt for the terminal, first you will have to open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and depending on our team it is 32 or 64 bits, we will select the first or second option that is shown below.

Uninstall Harmony from Ubuntu

To uninstall this program from our operating system, we just have to open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T). Once open write something like the following in it.

sudo apt remove harmony && sudo apt autoremove
