La desktop customization it is one of the things most often called by Linux users. There is no doubt that being able to change practically any aspect of what you see on the screen is a great attraction for many. It can't be used as a compelling reason in those typical "I like Linux better because ..." discussions, but it is true that our favorite operating system does like it. that we are comfortable with him and that we can leave it to our liking.

That is why in this article we have thought of bringing you four icon packs so you can customize your Ubuntu desktop as you like best, in an elegant and colorful way. We take this opportunity to remember that to apply these changes it is necessary to have Unity Tweaks and GNOME Tweaks if you use either of those two desks. Let's go there!

Rave X Colors

RAVE-X-Colors-3

RAVE X Icon Theme is a fusion of various visual themes for Linux which include Fanenza, Elementary and others. It incorporates folders with a design based on Elementary OS and comes in twelve different colors, adapting perfectly to darker or brighter panels, as well as different toolbars.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ravefinity-project/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rave-x-colors-icons

Shadow

shadow-2

Shadow is an icon pack flat, with an appearance similar to Google's Material Design, and very reminiscent of an icon pack for Android called Voxel. Voxel also has the shadow below the main icon, although Shadow's icons are round and Voxel's are square. In short, a pack with which to give a modern and elegant touch to your desktop.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install shadow-icon-theme

Clarity

clarity-2

Clarity is a vector package written using GTK libraries. It can be used on most Linux desktops and is compatible with a large number of distributions. With this package we will also download all the color variations of the icons, which are fourteen in total, and which will help to give a distinctive touch to our desktop.

The installation of this pack It consists of several steps. In first place we download and install the package:

sudo apt-get install librsvg2-2 librsvg2-bin imagemagick
wget -O clarity.tar.gz http://drive.noobslab.com/data/icons/clarity-icon-theme_0.4.1.tar.gz
tar -xzvf clarity.tar.gz -C ~/.icons;rm clarity.tar.gz

Secondly we put the predefined scheme of Clarity:

cd ~/.icons/clarity-icon*/ && ./change-theme

And lastly we choose the icon of our distribution:

cd ~/.icons/clarity-icon*/ && make ubuntu

Vibrancy-Colours

vibrance-colors-1

Vibrancy-Colors is a bold and modern package for our Ubuntu. Its appearance is slightly reminiscent of Fanenza and the icon packs used in Linux Mint, and you will also be able to choose the color in which you want your folders to appear. Hello Master. Clarity does not let me install it in Ubunntu 16.04, because when I put:
    tar -xzvf clarity.tar.gz -C ~ / .icons; rm clarity.tar.gz
    He tells me this:
    tar (child): clarity.tar.gz: Unable to open: File or directory does not exist
    tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
    Tar: Child Returned Status 2
    Tar: ERROR IS NOT RECOVERABLE: EXITING NOW
    rm: cannot delete 'clarity.tar.gz': File or directory does not exist
    Let me know if you can prove something else or what I'm doing wrong. thanks total!
