Those who are Ubuntu users should be familiar with Hot Corners, with which you can easily configure custom functions to perform when the mouse pointer is moved to the corner of the screen.

The hot corners can be configured for each of the four corners of the screen to perform productive actions such as minimizing all windows to display the desktop, grid applications are displayed, launch an application, or just run a command as well.

As many of you will know as of Ubuntu 17.04, the Unity desktop environment was replaced with GNOME and since then hot corners have been lost, since GNOME does not have that feature natively.

In the case of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS we have some methods to enable the Hot Corners and we are going to share these methods with you.

First method to enable Hot Corners in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

The first method to enable this feature in the system is with the help of a Gnome extension, so you should know how to enable and install Gnome extensions on the system.

This can be done with the help of the Chrome browser and visiting the following link from the browser.

As well it is necessary to have the Gnome Tweak tool on the system. If you don't have it installed, just run the following command in the terminal:

sudo apt install gnome-tweaks

Finally, now you just have to go to the next page where you can enable the extension.

Done this now it is necessary that we go to "activities" and here we must go to 'Settings'.

We must click on "Extensions" and then we must click on the configuration icon in the "Custom corner" section.

Here we must use the drop-down list to establish the actions of each corner, in which each one will place the configuration that suits their needs.

At the end of the configuration, just close the window and test each corner.

Every time you hover over the corners, you should see the action! Personally, I love the "Show Desktop" action which minimizes all open windows and instantly displays the desktop!

Second method to enable Hot Corners in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Another method to enable this function within the system is with the help of dconf-editor, so it is necessary that they have it installed in the system.

To do this, just open the terminal on your system and run the following command:

sudo apt-get install dconf-editor

Once the installation is done, they must execute it with:

sudo dconf-editor

Being inside dconf-editor you must Search for the word enable-hot-corners

You will see that it is disabled, and you enable it in ON

As well you must install an extra application to help you configure the functions of each corner, here you just have to look in the Ubuntu software center "Hot corners" and install the application.

You must find and open the Hot Corners application and here in it you must configure the actions of each corner according to your needs as well as only activate the corners that you designate.

At the end, just close the window and test the functions of each corner that you assigned.

Finally The last option we have to enable hot corners in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS is by typing the following command in the terminal:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell enable-hot-corners true

Done this in the same way you must install an extra application thatTo help you configure the functions of each corner, here you just have to look in the Ubuntu software center "Hot corners" and install the application.

You must find and open the Hot Corners application and here you must configure the actions of each corner according to your needs as well as only activate the corners that you designate.

as it can be done with 2 monitors, in such a way that when you stand in the corner it only shows you the active windows of that screen nothing else, not that it activates the one of the 2 screens.
