How to post images to Twitter from the Ubuntu desktop

Nautilus-Twitter-Uploader

Although Twitter and Facebook are two social networks that were created to be used through the web browser, the truth is that uploading images or launching special publications is sometimes a very long task. That is why mobile apps are so successful, since they save a lot of time when making publications or publishing images.

Thanks to El Atareao, now we can post images to twitter from Ubuntu desktop. To do this, we only have to install a plugin of his that he has created for Nautilus and then authorize that plugin within the Twitter network. Once this is done, publishing is straightforward.

First we have to say that this plugin only works with Nautilus, so KDE users will not be able to use it. If we really comply with this, we first go to the terminal and write this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/nautilus-extensions
sudo apt update
sudo apt install nautilus-twitter-uploader

Once we have done this, we have to restart the file manager. For this we only have to write the following:

nautilus -q

Once we have restarted the file manager, we have to configure the plugin. To do this, we first select an image and then click on it with the right button. In doing this, we must first go to the option Send To Twitter -> Login to Twitter.

There the web browser will open and ask us to give authorization to the application on Twitter. It will give us a numerical code that we have to enter in the application. Once this is done we will be able to use the plugin. And it will only be enough for us to select the image and with the right button press the Send To Twitter option.

The truth is that nautilus-twitter-uploader is a great complement for nautilus and Twitter lovers. A complement that we have to thank El Atareao for this great job that he has given us.
