In this new article I am going to teach you one of the things that our Linux operating system does not allow us to do natively, which is the rename files in bulk; In Windows we can do it in a very simple way by selecting the files to rename and clicking on the right button of the mouse.
En Linux we will need the help of a program or application to achieve rename files in bulk, there are several applications to achieve it, but I prefer the one that for me is best by far, gprename.
The first thing to do will be to install this application, which as it is included in the Ubuntu, it will be as easy as open a new terminal and click the following line:
- sudo apt-get install gprename
Once the application is installed we will update the package list with the following command:
- sudo apt-get update
Now we just have to open the dash of our Ubuntu y escribir gprename.
To know how to use this sensational program for our Linux operating system, it will be as easy as looking at the header video tutorial and see how simple the process of how to rename files in bulk in Linux can be.
