Imagine is an image compressor open source that makes use of the pngquant and mozjpeg compression libraries, is built from TypeScript using Electron, the tool supports JPEG, PNG and WebP formats. The application supports multiple languages and is available for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
This application has a powerful batch image manager, with which we can optimize a large number of images in just a few seconds, thus being a fairly attractive and easy-to-use application.
Imagine's interface is quite intuitive Therefore, when installing it in our system, its use will not represent a problem.
Only It has three options on its menu What are they:
- Add: In this option we can add the images that we are going to optimize with the program.
- Save: In this option, once the desired changes have been made in the images, it will export them where we indicate it.
- Clean: With this option we will eliminate the set of images that we should no longer work with with the program.
It should be noted that the application at all times will show us a preview of the image with the changes that we are adjusting so that we can appreciate the resulting image at all times.
How to install Imagine on Ubuntu 17.04?
To install Imagine in our system does not require much, the installation is simple only we just download the AppImage, we will only have to download the latest version available from this link.
Later we proceed to give the file permissions for then proceed with its installation, for this we have to open a terminal and execute the following commands:
chmod a+x Imagine-[v]-x86_64.AppImage ./Imagine-[v]-x86_64.AppImage
Once this was done, an installer was opened, it will ask us to give permissions for the installation of the application, it will also request permissions to create a direct access to Imagine.
This would be the whole process for its installation, it only remains to enjoy the application.
