Installing Google Chrome on Ubuntu 13.10

Chrome on Ubuntu 13.10

Google Chrome It went from being a browser that many doubted to become one of the most popular. This thanks to its speed and the backing of a giant like Mountain View.

Although Chrome has a free brother named Chromium, many still prefer the Google version. Install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 13.10 and derived distributions -Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu…- It is very simple; simply download the application's DEB package and install it.

This can be done from the console. First we download the DEB package according to the architecture of our machine.

For 32-bit machines:

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb -O chrome32.deb

For 64-bit machines:

wget -c https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb -O chrome64.deb

Done this we execute, for the 32-bit version:

sudo dpkg -i chrome32.deb

And for the 64:

sudo dpkg -i chrome64.deb

Finally we solve any dependency problem by executing:

sudo apt-get -f install
