OTA update delivery is supported to keep the software up-to-date. Programs can be installed both from the Ubuntu repositories and Snap directory, and from a separate app store. The distribution also includes a JAAS layer (JingPad Android App Support), which allows, in addition to the fixed Linux desktop applications, to run applications created for the Android platform (you can run programs for Ubuntu and Android in parallel).

The distribution is developed by the Chinese company Jingling Tech, which pre-installs JingOS on the JingPad tablet. It is noted that to work on JingOS and JingPad, it was possible to hire employees who previously worked at Lenovo, Alibaba, Samsung, Canonical/Ubuntu, and Trolltech.

  • JingApps-Kalk: Calculator.
  • Jing Haruna: is a video player based on Qt / QML and libmpv.
  • JingApps-KRecorder: is a sound recording software (voice recorder).
  • JingApps-KClock: It is a watch with timer and alarm functions.
  • JingApps-Media-Player: is a media player based on vvave.

Version 1.2 is only available for tablets based on the ARM architecture (previously there were also versions for the x86_64 architecture, but the focus has recently shifted to the ARM architecture).
