Kali Linux 2019.2

Offensive Security has had the pleasure of announce the launch of Kali Linux 2019.2, the second 2019 maintenance update of the "ethical hacking" operating system they develop. The new version has been released to include some new features such as Linux 4.19.28, which is a bit surprising as it is neither the latest stable version nor the latest LTS version of the Linux kernel. The most important new features of this release have to do with a toolkit.

Kali Linux 2019.2 introduces a new version of NetHunter, which allows us to use Kali Linux tools on Android mobile devices. The latest version of this toolkit includes support for 13 new devices, including the Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2, and the LTE and WiFi versions of the Galaxy Tab S4. In total, there are already more than 50 devices that are supported by the Kali Linux NetHunter. Below you have a video of how the tool works.

How could it be otherwise, the desktop operating system has also received improvements, among which we have updated tools such as exe2hex, msfpc and seclists. What seems most important is that they have improved support for ARM devices so that Kali Linux 2019.2 OS installation works better. Now, users with ARM computers will find that starting Kali Linux for the first time will take longer than normal, which is because some packages will be reinstalled. You might also see the login being closed a couple of times, but this behavior is normal and will disappear once all the packages are reinstalled.
