KDE Applications 19.04.2 follows in the footsteps of Plasma 5.16: now available in the Backports repository

KDE Applications 19.04.2

I, who am very impatient for these things, can only say "finally!" On April 18, just as the Disco Dingo version of the Ubuntu family was released, KDE Community released KDE Applications v19.04. In its day, since I was "new" on my return to Kubuntu (I had used it a few days in the past), I thought it was normal and that they would soon arrive at Kubuntu 19.04, but it was not. Rik (thanks again!) Told me that they had not arrived in time to include you in Disco Dingo, but that they would upload them to their Backports repository in a future update. That update has arrived today and KDE Applications 19.04.2 is now available.

Two months ago we publish an article talking about the news that would come with KDE Applications 19.04, among which we have the possibility to configure the compression level of Spectacle screenshots, verify PDF files or digital signatures in Okular or a renewed version of Kdenlive. There are many new features that we cannot add to an article about a launch, but we can say that it is worth opening Discover and installing the 59 packages of the new versions (and other components) of KDE Applications 19.04.2.

KDE Applications 19.04.2 is the second maintenance release of the version released in April

KDE Applications 19.04.2 Upgrade Packages

V19.04.2 is the June release of KDE Applications 2019 and is about the second maintenance release from the same. But you have to take into account a couple of things: the first is that the new versions will not appear in Kubuntu (yes in KDE Neon) unless we add the Backportas repository of the KDE community, something we can do by opening a terminal window and typing the following:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: kubuntu-ppa / backports [/ soutcecode]

The second is that the application suite PIM still needs a little more work and, logically, a little longer. At the moment, we are already using PIM It consists of some system applications which are Kontact, Akgregator, Blogilo, KadressesBook, KAlarm, KMail, KNotes, KOrganizer, KonsoleKalendar and Kjots. The rest of KDE Applications, including Kdenlive 19.04.02, are already available in the project's Backports repository. What have you not downloaded yet? What are you waiting for?
