KDE Connect already has a trial version for Windows

KDE Connect on Windows

If we had to say one good thing about Apple, I think many of us would mention its ecosystem. Everything is very well integrated and, for example, we can answer a call from the iPad or Mac just by being connected with the same Apple ID that the iPhone they call uses. It is difficult to imagine a future in which we have something similar in Linux, but today we do have a KDE Connect (also available for GNOME) that at least allows us to sync Android phones with Linux.

It's been a while since KDE Connect appeared on macOS, although it's still in the testing phase and has many features disabled by default. On the other hand, today the circle has been completed (or has begun to complete) regarding the three most used operating systems and it has been announced that there is already a trial version of KDE Connect for Windows. The medium chosen to announce the launch has been Reddit and you can access the initial information from this link.

KDE Connect syncs Android with your PC

Right now, KDE Connect for Windows 0.1.0 available in the usual EXE, in APPX format and in source code. The supported versions are full Windows 10 and Windows 7 if the notification plugin is disabled or KDE Connect will stop working (crash). It is surprising that they have left Windows 8 / 8.1 in limbo, although they have not openly said that they will not support it. Right now, all they're saying is that they haven't tried it.

Many Windows users are probably thinking that why use this KDE option if there is already a native app available that, in theory, does the same thing. The answer may be that KDE Connect is free, while Microsoft's technology is proprietary. On the other hand, my personal advice is that those interested in using this type of synchronization system try both and stick with the one that offers the best sensations.
