KDE continues its massacre of glitches that began two weeks ago

Polishing the KDE image

Last Tuesday, KDE He launched Plasma 5.20.2. At the time of its launch, Nate Graham had given us very little change over the weekends, and I personally doubted why considering that the 5.20 series had arrived with many glitches. The answer seems to be that they were misplaced or arrived just after your weekly note. This time, the developer input did speaks to us of many of those changes, but they are already available as of last Tuesday.

So this note, which they have called "Continuous Bug Massacre", is very long, but many of the news that advance us are no longer so, so we will not include them in this list. If you want to see the changes he mentions about Plasma 5.20.2, we recommend visiting Nate's blog. Below you have the future news list mentioned this week.

  • The System Preferences Task Launcher, Window Behavior, and General Behavior Pages now fully support the "Highlight Changed Settings" feature (Plasma 5.21).

  • The context menu for file-based notifications now includes a "Move to Trash" item in case you suddenly realize that you don't need the file after all (Plasma 5.21).
  • The bracket matching feature in Kate, KDevelop and other KTextEditor based applications now also matches angle brackets (Frameworks 5.76).

When will all this get to the KDE desktop

plasma 5.20 I arrive last October 13, and we already know that Plasma 5.21 will arrive on February 9 and Plasma 5.20.3 will do it next Tuesday, November 10. KDE Applications 20.08.3 will land on November 5 and v20.12 will land on December 10. KDE Frameworks 5.76 will be released on November 14.

To enjoy all this as soon as possible we have to add the KDE Backports repository or use an operating system with special repositories like Kde neon or any distribution whose development model is Rolling Release.
