Part 20 of KDE applications explored with Discover

The "K Team" has made the launch of KDE Gear 23.08 official. And in it, it is time to say goodbye to Kalendar to welcome Merkuro, and they have reasons for this change. Kalendar was called an application to check dates and appointments, but for a long time it did more than that. It is also used to save contacts, and to be able to include everything in the same application, a non-exclusive name is necessary, and the one chosen has been Merkuro. KDE Gear 23.08 arrives with a new name for Kalendar and new functions for its suite of applications

Merkuro Calendar

Merkuro Calendar

Merkuro Calendar is the Calendar app of the Merkuro project, which allows the management of tasks and events. Kalendar allows you to use local calendars and a large number of online calendars: Nextcloud, Google® Calendar, Outlook®, Caldav and others.

Merkuro Contacts

Merkuro Contacts

Merkuro Contacts is the Contact Book app of the Merkuro project, which allows you to efficiently manage the necessary data of each of the people with whom we interact every day, or occasionally.

Merkuro Mail

Merkuro Mail

Merkuro Mail is the Mail app from the Merkuro project. However, for now, this free and open source email client development is currently in beta phase, which is why it only allows us to read received emails.

Installing Merkuro using Discover

As usual, the KDE app selected for install today with Discover About my current Respin MX-23 test called Miracles GNU / Linux It would be any of the 3 Merkuro apps mentioned. However, as of today, only the current Kalendar is available through Discover. Therefore, we will install the latter, as seen in the following screenshots:

And at the end of the installation, now you can enjoy this cool app, opening it from the applications menu.
