Codenamed Krypton, the famous open-source media player Kodi 17 has been released for multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. This is also complemented by a new web interface called Chorus2 as the culmination of this great multimedia environment.
Just yesterday the latest stable version of Kodi, number 17, that being a major release includes important developments among its functions. We will start by citing the artist support and performance improvements within the labels section, the library optimization that are now able to move and manage a large number of multimedia files, better timing between images and audio during video playback and the ability to perform file encoding on all platforms.
Some have also been added to the Kodi library new formats which is now capable of playing the application, including: SmoothStream, Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP), NXMSL, and MPEG-DASH. Besides, the color conversion now allows reduction by techniques of dithering by OpenGL and DVD playback can be performed with the support of the hardware acceleration.
