Krita is the famous KDE community app designed by cartoonists for cartoonists. This May they have released the Alpha and Beta versions of Krita 4.2.0, its final release is scheduled for the last week of this month and the news note and even a video talking about them. There is everything ... except the software. It is nowhere to be found at the time of writing this article.
In addition to the news note, the information note on its launch has also been "published" in quotation marks. The problem is that, if we access the link that they have provided us, what we see is the famous 404 error which indicates that the page has not been found. On the other hand, if we access the download page from Krita, what appears is version v4.1.7, it does not even appear v4.1.8 which is available on Flathub.
Krita 4.2.0 is coming today
In the informative note of its launch the video that you have above these lines is included. It is a video of almost 20 minutes in which they tell us about the news that Krita 4.2.0 includes, being the first thing to mention that bugs have been fixed and made the program more reliable, which will greatly improve the user experience. Also included:
- Range masks.
- The splash screen now shows the latest news about Krita. Disabled by default and currently only on Linux.
- Color assistants.
- Ability to activate transformation tools when pasting.
- Improved the move tool.
- Smoother user interface.
So, if you are cartoonists or simply users of this app, you already know: Krita 4.2.0 is coming. Before finishing this article I have looked again and everything is the same: the new version is not yet available and the release information note still has the 404 error, but the launch is scheduled for this week. Yes it appears en this link, but personally I don't like to recommend anything I'm not sure of. It IS SUPPOSED that the version of Krita 4.2.0 that appears there is the final and stable, but ...
Are you going to download it now or are you going to wait for it to appear on the main page or in the official repositories?
