LibreOffice 5.1.2 now available in Ubuntu's default repositories

LibreOffice 5.1.2.2

After a time available in which we could download and install the latest version in tests by other means, it is now available in the Ubuntu default repositories LibreOffice 5.1.2. To be more exact, the version that has officially reached Ubuntu is v5.1.2.2 and includes more than 80 fixes and improvements. The announcement of the availability of the new version came from Italo Vignoli of The Document Foundation.

LibreOffice 5.1.2 (2) is the second revision of the most advanced and stable version of the suite of office automation that is installed by default in many GNU / Linux operating systems, such as the standard version of the operating system that gives this blog its name. The new version arrives about a month after the release of version 5.1.1 mainly for correct many of the errors that have been reported by users.

LibreOffice 5.1.2 targets tech enthusiasts, early adopters, and demanding users. For more conservative users and business use, TDF recommends the "current" version: LibreOffice 5.0.5. For business use, The Document Foundation recommends professional support from certified people.

It seems that LibreOffice 5.1.2 has had two versions release Candidate (RC) in the month of March, time in which the developers behind the open source office suite have solved more than 80 problems, as well as they have added various modifications and optimizations while keeping the software stable and reliable.

Any user with version 5.1.1 or earlier is recommended to install LibreOffice 5.1.2, although TDF says that it is safest for those who have to perform major works is version 5.0.5. On Ubuntu and its official flavors, the update should appear when launching the Software Update. For those who do not have it available, it can be downloaded from your official page.
