LibreOffice 6.2.5 now available, becomes the "recommended version"

LibreOffice 6.2.5

Well, it's actually half true. The Document Foundation has launched a few hours ago LibreOffice 6.2.5, making it the fifth maintenance release of the 6.2 series. The company does not recommend updating to the latest version until several versions have been released to correct the different bugs they have found after a large launch, and that time usually coincides with the fifth maintenance version of the same. The recommended version, the one that still appears like this on the official website, is still v6.1.6, but The Document Foundation is already inviting companies to upgrade to the newly released v6.2.5.

LibreOffice 6.2.5 has arrived a month and a half after the launch of the v6.2.4 and, despite the fact that it is the fifth maintenance version, it has arrived for correct no less than 118 bugs, which will make the famous office suite even more stable and reliable. I have not had a chance to test it yet, but as I read this I can't help but think of a bug I experience in Writer that makes scrolling from the touch panel not fine at all, but stumbling.

LibreOffice 6.2.5 fixes a total of 118 bugs

The next version will already be LibreOffice 6.2.6, scheduled for release in mid-August. LibreOffice 6.3 will have been released shortly before, the next major release of the free office suite that is installed by default on many Linux distributions. When v6.3 is officially released, The Document Foundation will offer v6.2.5 as best choice for production environments, something that does not make much sense if we consider that the two versions (v6.1.6 and v6.2.5) are already available and will not receive any more changes.

LibreOffice 6.2.5 is now available from the developer website for Linux, macOS and Windows. Personally, I would recommend Linux users to wait a few days to install it, since it will soon reach the official repositories of the different distributions. If this is not your case, the new version is available in DEB and RPM versions.

And I thought that the failure of the scroll was a matter of my computer that is in the process of dying! It will be touching to update to see if it saves me unnecessary frustrations.
