How to install LiVES on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and derivatives?

If you want to install this video editor on your systems, we can do it with the help of a repository. We will only have to open a Ctrl + Alt + C terminal and execute the following commands in it.

The first thing we are going to do is add the repository to our system with:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/lives

Now we are going to proceed to update the list of repositories and applications with:

sudo apt-get update

Finally We can install the application and some extras with the following command:

sudo apt-get install lives lives-plugins

At the end of the installation you will be able to verify that the application was added to your system, looking for its launcher in your application menu.

How to uninstall LiVES in Ubuntu and its derivatives?

If for some reason we want to uninstall this application from the system, just run the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt-get remove lives lives-plugins --auto-remove
