Loupe enters the incubator with plans to become a GNOME application. New this week

Loupe in GNOME

During the week that has gone from January 27 to February 3, GNOME Considered adopting a new application. As for apps, there are at least a couple of levels: the first is the one that is part of the project, and the second is what is known as the GNOME Circle, and the apps that could be included in it. first group have to go through what is called the "incubator" first.

Loupe has been accepted for the GNOME incubator, a process that all applications that want to get into GNOME Core or the project's development tools have to go through. The intention is that Magnifying glass become GNOME's default image viewer in a similar way to how Text Editor and other text-editing applications have done in recent months. Below you have the list with the news that has happened during the last seven days, including others related to Loupe.

  • Cavalier is a CAVA based audio viewer. And don't mess with this, since the audio can't be seen; It is an application that does something like the equalizers of some Hi-Fi equipment, basically showing a graphical representation of how bass, midrange and treble are behaving. Cavalier now has four drawing modes, several new options to customize the interface, keyboard shortcuts to change most settings quickly, and the ability to import/export settings.

  • This week the "Schemes" application, an application for creating and editing syntax highlighting style schemes for GtkSourceView, has been submitted to flathub.

  • A developer works on an application called IPlan to plan personal life and workflows. It is not ready to be published, but its developer cannot stop its work; I might release it next week. Being honest, and seeing how badly I organize myself when I have many things to do, I will only say that 👀
