Lubuntu 18.10 will be 32 bit if desired by your community

Despite the fact that we are in times where many people start their vacations, many developers continue with their projects and the developments of Ubuntu 18.10 are no less. Simon Quigley has advanced news of the next version of Lubuntu, the official light flavor of Ubuntu.

The Ubuntu team had announced that the next version of Ubuntu and its official flavors would not have support for the 32-bit platform, something that many distributions had already started a long time ago. But, Lubuntu 18.10 will not go down this path, unless its community wants it.The Lubuntu leader has reported that Lubuntu 18.10 will have a 32-bit version if your community so wishes and if you work on it. That is, if Lubuntu 18.10 receives a lot of support during the testing of its 32-bit version and bugs are solved, the development team will continue with the 32-bit version, otherwise, Lubuntu 18.10 will follow the path of the rest of the distributions and not will offer support for the 32-bit platform.

Possibly many of you will think that the help or the request of the version how it can be done. The procedure is very easy, we have to download the 32 its ISO Image of Lubuntu 18.10, install it on a computer or virtual machine, and report all bugs that appear in Launchpad.

We can do this same process with other official Ubuntu flavors and even Ubuntu itself, but personally I think the Lubuntu team is making mistakes. I personally think that it should be use the information tool that Ubuntu and its official flavors have and check how many users are still using the 32-bit platform. And after checking this information, decide whether or not it is worth continuing with the platform. I think this is important because in the end each version is a waste of resources and developing a platform for a very low number of users to the detriment of the majority can be detrimental to the official flavor. In any case, if you want to support the 32-bit platform of Lubuntu 18.10, you already know: support distribution.
