Lumina Desktop has been updated to version 1.4.0

Lumina 1.4.0 DE

Lumina Hair Care is a plug-in-based desktop environment for Unix operating systems. It is specifically designed as a system interface for TrueOS, and BSD-derived systems in general.

Lumina Hair Care It has been written from scratch in C ++ and QT and is not based on the codebase of any existing desktop systemas it doesn't use any of the Linux-based desktop frameworks.

The desktop environment has been updated to its new version 1.4.0 that includes a series of changes, optimizations, and feature enhancements.

Some features are specific to TrueOS, including hardware control of screen brightness (monitor backlight), preventing an update system from shutting down, and integration with various TrueOS utilities.

In this new version we can find a new customization engine. This engine offers new theming capabilities for desktop and Qt5 applications and helps ensure a robust and great-looking look.

Also in this new version of Lumina we find a new tool which is directed to pdf files, yes, that's right, lumina adds a reader called pdf lumina-pdf.

Like most applications for this DE, the new PDF viewer is a standalone utility. It makes use of the poppler-qt5 library to render documents, and it uses multi-threading to speed up page loading.

The lumina-player has also received some updates which now allows you to play local media.

Among the other improvements that we have, the lumina-fm file manager has been improved, since its response speed has been increased, on the other hand, support for multiple monitors has been improved.

How to install Lumina desktop?

If we want to install the desktop environment, it is necessary to download the source code to start compiling it from there, it is a task that a new user cannot do, although I must tell you that we have a guide to carry out this process we can check it here.
